Supply Chain Internship - Fall 2019


Attention all Juniors and Seniors!!
This is your opportunity to take supply chain theories and data and apply them to provide cost savings and identify global suppliers for one of the world’s largest aerospace companies. Safran Test Cells is an aerospace engineering company responsible for the design and supply of aero-engine test facilities and test equipment. We are a subsidiary of Safran Group, an international high-technology group and tier-1 supplier of systems and equipment in the Aerospace and Defense markets. Internship description:
The main objective for this internship is to contribute to Supply Chain departmental goals by identifying cost savings through data analysis, and sourcing global suppliers and logistics vendors. In this role you will gain an understanding of the entire supply chain process, logistics and inventory management including the ERP system. This internship is an opportunity for a student to take ownership of designated projects and apply their knowledge to meet business goals.

Primary Responsibilities:
·        Shadow each position that moves the supply chain forward
·        Enter basic PO’s (purchase orders) and obtain quotes
·        Process RFQ’s (request for quotes) and RFP’s (request for proposals)
·        Partner with hiring manager on packaging and shipping processes
·        Final projects on cost saving opportunities and identifying new global suppliers
Requirements:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain Management or related field
·        Ability to take initiative and utilize problem solving skills
  • Demonstrate ability to extract relevant data and determine next steps
  • Ability to clearly communicate and simplify complex ideas
  • Demonstrate strong time management, planning, and organizational skills in order to optimize productivity
  • Able to apply advanced knowledge to address major risks, challenges, and obstacles
  • Resolves complex issues in creative and effective way

Paid Internship: $20
Duration: Sept.-Dec. 2019; up to 20 hours a week
