Mechanic/Maintenance Internship

About Mount Ski Gull: Mount Ski Gull operates a non-profit facility for the youth in central Minnesota. We provide affordable outdoor programs and opportunities with an emphasis on snow sports that result in lifelong character-building skills and a healthy lifestyle.

Time frame: Anticipated start and end dates are October 1st, 2019 – April 15th, 2020 (these are flexible), would be willing to work with a later start date of November or December.

Hours: 15-20 hours/week, primarily Friday, Saturday, & Sunday’s; Flexible to work around intern’s school schedule. Possible to work more hours during holidays and school breaks. Internship will not exceed 640 hours total. 

Goal: We are seeking an intern in the mechanical, automotive, or large machinery field. We anticipate the intern to help with scheduled maintenance and repairs on all our big machinery (snow guns, groomer, ATV's, chairlift, tow rope, conveyors etc.). The intern will be able to work with and learn from other seasonal experienced maintenance staff in the ski recreation field. Other activities the intern will have an opportunity to learn/perform may include: snowmaking, grooming, park building, risk management, and all aspects of hill operations. We anticipate this being a very hands-on internship, with the intern being able to gain very valuable experiences, while progressing in their field of study.

Requirements: The intern must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution (min. part-time).

Pay: $12/hour through Sourcewell. This internship is part of the NPO Internship Program through Sourcewell.
