Market Manager - University of Iowa
JOB SUMMARY //
Under the direction of the Account Executive/Supervisor, the Market Manager is responsible for set-up and tear-down of all events in his/her designated market. As the main point of contact for the venue and GMR Client Services Team, the Market Manager will be the go-to person onsite while leading and managing the temporary staff. The Market Manager will typically have a set schedule. Consistent communication from the field is key in the overall success of the program due to all decision-making being directed by his/her supervisor.l also complete all other duties as assigned by program management and/or GMR Corporate Staff.
DATE, TIME, & LOCATION //
This program will run from 8/25/2019 through 2/25/2020.
WHAT YOU’LL DO //
- Check-in/check-out staff at arrival and departure times and keep detailed records of staff time to be reported back to the GMR Account Team
- Pick up assets and 16ft box truck at nearby storage unit in advance of event arrival time and drive the vehicle to the activation location for set-up; return the truck to the storage unit after each activation
- Strategically schedule and designate breaks for all staff
- Assist with training Brand Ambassadors prior to the first event and during events as needed
- Provide real-time performance coaching to staff on site as needed
- Identify and troubleshoot staffing issues on site; communicate back to GMR Account Team as needed
- Engage with event attendees to ensure they are having a top-notch experience
- Lead set-up and teardown of event in partnership with Brand Ambassadors
- Consistent communication with GMR Account Team throughout the events
- Confirm event details including, but not limited to: exact location of event, dates, times, event set-up and tear-down times, prizes or promotions for the event, and security arrangements (as needed)
- Direct and perform the cleaning and maintaining of the event site during and after the event
- Make on-the-spot decisions that may deviate from original plan of action but are necessary to be successful
- Ensure each event is operated with the safety of staff and the public as highest priority
- Manage event activities, contests, giveaways, devices and participate when applicable
- Complete event reporting including, but not limited to: recaps, tracking attendance, and photo/videos
- Handle all event problems quickly and professionally
- rive traffic to the footprint and meet and greet consumers upon arrival
- Actively engage with consumers within the footprint area with excitement and enthusiasm
- Effectively deliver key product and promotional messaging to consumers
- Enthusiastically create memorable brand experiences for consumers
- Work effectively as a team while onsite, including setup and takedown of the footprint (i.e. signage, devices, giveaways, etc.)
- Identify and troubleshoot all onsite issues by working directly with the Market Manager and/or the GMR Account Team
- Other duties as assigned
WHAT WE NEED //
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must have previous management experience
- Must have reliable transportation to get to and from events
- Must wear required uniform
- Due to driving requirements, must submit to and pass an MVR (motor vehicle record) check and drug screen upon hire.
- Working knowledge of computers with average to above average skills in Windows, Excel, Word and Email
- Ability to learn new computer programs quickly and efficiently
