Business Data Engineer - Entry Level

Data is data and many people see black & white. However, data combined with your creative input to add

ideas & possibilities and add life & color is a Superpower!

We are looking for a Data Superhero!

One who is smart enough to design, build, manage the data & models.
One who is creative enough to use the data in new ways and bring new insights to the client.
One who is able to tell the story of the possibilities of this complex information into layman’s
terms with passion.
One who has a natural business - entrepreneurial - consultative mindset as they support the sales team to close the deals.

You are intellectually curious, self-motivated, goal oriented, creative, competitive, a go-getter, an

outside-the-box thinker, adaptable, a wizard at communication, and passionate.

You will be working for a 45+ year old global firm with the structure & stability that fosters

You will help build this particular department from the ground up. Your input will help shape the

future of not only your role & career, but the department and firm.

Using predictive analytics you will be using client’s data to answer client’s questions & concerns

and you will come to the table with additional options. Solving problems they hadn’t thought

possible to solve. Answering questions they didn’t realize they had.

You will support & be part of the sales team by traveling with sales reps to help paint the picture

of these solutions and to help close the deal! You will also support the sales team behind the

scenes and provide support to clients.

You will support the marketing team with marketing materials & training. You will support the

entire organization with new internal suggestions.

Requirements for a Business Data Engineer:

Bachelors Degree (Data or Computer Science, IT, Math, Physics, Engineering, Business IS)
0-3 years of experience
Creative mindset which is naturally looking outside the box
Highly analytical and business oriented
Technical: Must know Python, R, SQL, similar / experience with analytics software
Some sort of experience (school or professional) with using data in a business / consulting setting
Up to 60% travel

Chicago HQ (with the department growing, if you would like to relocate to the East or West Coast after 1-2 years, that’s absolutely possible)
