Research Associate

Job Summary
ChromoLogic is actively engaged in multiple cutting-edge biomedical research and development programs and is in need of a Research Associate. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology and experience working with RNA species, especially miRNA, liquid handling platform and deep sequencing technology. Experience with mammalian cell culture is a plus. The candidate must demonstrate independence in the design and execution of experiments, as well as troubleshooting protocols. The candidate must be self-motivated, have strong organizational skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties
·        Support high-throughput sample processing for next generation sequencing, using existing automated equipment solutions
·        Assist in the development of novel methods and protocols, including the development of novel liquid handling processes
·        Independently run experiments with PCR-based methodologies, RT-PCR, DNA/RNA isolation, and NGS library preparation including RNA-seq and/or DNA-seq
·        Support research and development efforts for nucleic acid biomarker discovery

Skills Requirements
·        BS/MS degree in molecular biology, cellular biology, bioengineering or equivalent
·        3-5+ years of academic or industrial experience
·        Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills to clearly articulate ideas, problems, and solutions
·        Good technical communication skills, written and verbal
·        US Citizen or US Permanent Resident due to government contract requirements
