Summary:  
The Payroll Accounting Specialist will be the primary interface with the payroll provider (ADP), submitting bi-weekly payroll for 300+ employees located in multiple states, reviewing and auditing of time card submissions, processing commissions, recording payroll journal entries, and provide payroll support to employees, as well as working with Human Resources on payroll/benefits related items.     
 
This position will also have some basic accounting duties such as sales tax management, and other misc. accounting duties as assigned. This individual should be comfortable working in a rapidly growing and changing environment & working with payroll deadlines. Key attributes for this position include a strong understanding of standard payroll processes and compliance, a high-level attention to detail, and have excellent communication skills. This position reports to the Controller.     
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):  
 
Payroll (80%):  
• Process biweekly payroll (hours, commissions, misc. items) for 300+ employees in multiple states   
• Timecard management and validation   
• Process password resets   
• Assist in ADP portal registration   
• Payroll Reporting (overtime, time off, custom reporting as needed)   
• Year-end processing/planning/audit   
• Payroll journal entries and accrual - GL Interface into JDE our ERP system   
• FLSA Overtime calculation     
 
Misc. Accounting dept. tasks (20%):      
• Backup for credit card processing via Pay Pal  
• Administrative management of sales tax registrations and customer exemption certificates  
• Other miscellaneous accounting tasks as assigned.     
 
Essential Qualifications:    
• 1-5 years hands on experience with payroll and ADP.   
• Accounting background, entry to mid-level experience is a plus (Graduates encouraged to apply).   
• Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task and work in a team environment.   
• Associates degree and/or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a two or four-year college.
