Licensed Mental Health Counselor (50681) - Miami, FL

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

City: Miami
State: FL
Invo HealthCare, the nation’s leading provider of behavior and therapy services in schools and communities, is building a dynamic team of professionals to join our IMPACT Miami, FL team. We currently have incredible full and part-time opportunities available for Licensed Mental Health Counselors to join our dynamic team of professionals and truly make a difference in the lives of Florida youth.

IMPACT (Invo’s Multidisciplinary Program to Address Childhood Trauma) utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of youth with mental health diagnoses, intense behavioral challenges, substance abuse/use, and more. Members of the IMPACT team of providers are from different fields or disciplines that incorporate best practices into the diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, and service delivery process. Interventions are delivered by licensed or qualified mental health professionals who received specialized training in behavior therapy and receive regular support by as assigned clinical supervisor. IMPACT providers draw on their expertise to provide dedicated behavior support and therapeutic interventions while encouraging academic support and progress.

Our interventions draw upon field-tested, evidence-based protocols resulting in a unique therapeutic experience for the youth and his/her family. Our youth-guided approach draws on each youth’s strengths, incorporates family members and other people living in the home (who may not be family members), and group-based interventions with the goal establishing healthy behaviors that will serve the youth throughout his/her lifetime.

The guiding philosophy behind IMPACT intervention services recognizes the severe implications of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). By understanding how to manage or ameliorate the effects of ACEs, youth-guided IMPACT intervention can change children’s lives for the better. Research has clearly shown the role of ACEs as root causes of behavior to better understand why a youth is distressed (i.e., early life trauma, mental illness in household, youth witnessing domestic violence) as a means for understanding the etiology of emotional problems, mental illness, and substance use, with the goal of treating the child or adolescent holistically in a true wrap-around support system. By identifying root causes of behavior, the IMPACT team creates treatment plans that will yield long term positive effects (such as reducing recidivism rates, truancy, preventing substance abuse relapse, and maladaptive behaviors). The ramifications of failing to address ACEs, specifically when present at a high threshold in each child, can be catastrophic for their future mental and physical health.

Your experience with Invo starts with excellent compensation and benefits, including medical, dental, vision and professional development. It expands into a career defining role as part of our IMPACT Florida team. Are you ready? For more information, call 800-892-0640 to speak with a member of our IMPACT team.
