Regional Sales Manager - GERSTEL Inc. - work remotely from FL, GA, NC or TX

GERSTEL, a leading provider of chemical analysis solutions and instrumentation, seeks a proven leader with technical know-how to join our team as a Regional Sales Manager. This position works remotely from your choice of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, or Texas. The Regional Sales Manager is an experienced team leader with a background in managing and supporting sales representatives, executing sales strategies and accountability, guiding the sales process during customer visits, and building lasting relationships. The successful candidate effectively manages a regional sales territory in the southeastern portion of the United States with a team of manufacturer’s representatives. Crucial to success in this position will include sales activity oversight, management and focus, trend analysis, accountability on sales quotas, account development, customer relations, and providing pricing and formal product quotes. This position interacts with marketing, internal sales, operations, service and analytical services team members to maximize sales order closings. This key position reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE REGIONAL SALES MANAGER.
Sales
  • Responsible for driving company strategy through specific regional business plans and individual territory plans ensuring attainment of sales quotas.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with key customers; lead and guide sales team during customer visits to uncover technical and business challenges while balancing customer expectations with ability to deliver on desired requirements.
  • Provide pricing, formal product quotes, proposals, terms of sale, and delivery dates.
  • Drive and initiate business opportunities with new and existing customers.
  • Develop a keen understanding of the region including accounts, market trends/conditions, competitive products/pricing, and lost opportunities.
  • Manages regional sales staff including hiring, training, coaching, mentoring, providing tools, and developing individuals through your direction and accountability standards.
Administration
  • Provides monthly and quarterly sales forecasts, business plans, and territory plans.
  • Track budget achievement of regional and individual territory performance.
  • Responsible for continuous regional updates and monitoring of CRM database for qualified leads.
  • Responds in a timely manner to all requests for information, opinions and guidance from staff.

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS. $160,000 - $175,000 annually, based on your knowledge, industry experience and achievement of annual target goals. GERSTEL offers an extremely rich benefit package that includes medical, dental, vision, prescription, 401k retirement plan, long-term/short-term disability, a car allowance, and relocation assistance. This is an un-capped commissioned sales position working for a customer-driven company. Final candidates may be required to undergo a thorough background check, credit check and/or drug screen.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED AS THE GERSTEL REGIONAL SALES MANAGER.
  • Excellent leadership, mentoring, coaching and people management skills.
  • Proven success in managing and executing regional team performance, required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a directly related science field, preferred.
  • Established network of customers/influencers/analytical chemists.
  • Broad knowledge of chemistry, chromatography (GC, LC) and mass spectroscopy (MS) will be of particular value to understand our customer challenges and offer solutions.
  • Exceptional business-to-business sales experience including relationship building, customer/account profiling, prospecting and qualifying new accounts, negotiation and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software required; Sage CRM, a bonus.
  • A willingness and ability to travel throughout the Southeastern United States (up to 50%), required.
