Wealth Management Internship

Global Wealth & Investment Management provides comprehensive wealth management to affluent and high-net-worth clients. Wealth Management provides a high-touch client experience through a network of approximately 15,000 client-facing Financial Advisors to our affluent clients.  
 
The internship position reports directly to the Vice President and Financial Advisor, and provides an exceptional opportunity to work high-value projects. We are seeking a full time and part-time intern (10-15 hrs/wk for part time) with high interest in digital marketing, business administration, investment analysis, life insurance, entrepreneurship, sales, financial markets, wealth management, or financial planning. The position is afforded extensive training and educational growth.  
 
The internship is unpaid and you can receive college credit. Must be willing to undergo a background check and fingerprinting.

Responsibilities 
Role:  
 
There are multiple internship roles available based on your area of interest. We plan to have one intern focused on marketing and advertising, one focused on wealth management, and one focused on business and entrepreneurship.  
 
The Wealth Management Intern will be given the opportunity to learn about the advisory business by gaining exposure to key aspects of the wealth management division including various investment vehicles, relationship building, business development, life insurance, the prospecting process, and client interaction.  
 
The intern’s responsibilities may include:  
• Conducting product, market, and potential-client research  
• Reporting and analysis  
• Data entry with keen attention to detail  
• Developing business acumen and understanding of the markets  
• Performing administrative tasks directed by the Financial/Private Wealth Advisor, Senior Vice President, and/or Office Management Team such as filing, faxing, scanning, etc., as well as assistance with planning client events and networking functions 
 
 
We will accept applications only from candidates who are available beginning in February and are available for an interview over the next 3 weeks. Priority will be given to candidates able to commit to 6 months or longer. The internship is unpaid. School credit can be arranged. First round of interviews will be over the phone and competitive applicants will be invited to our U.S. headquarters in New York City for the second round of interviews.  
Requirements

• Proven academic excellence  
• Strong quantitative & analytical skills, attention to detail, and client focus  
• Effective oral and written communication  
• Adaptable to fast paced, changing environments  
• Ability to think independently and work collaboratively  
- MUST have a "no-task is too big or too small" attitude  
• Some basic computer skills (MS PowerPoint, Word, online research)  
 
Required Qualifications  
• Must be at least 18 years of age  
• Prefer someone who is seeking a college degree  
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
