Accounting Rotational Business Associate Program (ARBA Program)
The Accounting Rotational Business Associate (ARBA) program is a two-year rotational program designed to prepare highly talented Accounting and Finance graduates for leadership roles in Corporate Finance. The program offers hands-on training in a variety of financial disciplines. The ARBA Program has been an integral part of CNA for over 30 years. Graduates of the program hold a variety of positions throughout the organization, including numerous senior leadership roles.
Program Description:
This program is approximately two years in duration and includes two to four rotations in areas such as:
•Financial Reporting
•Insurance Accounting
•Investment Accounting
•Internal Audit
•Actuarial
•Underwriting
•Accounting Controls
•Financial Planning & Analysis
•Tax
•Corporate Reinsurance
•Reinsurance Accounting
•Enterprise Risk Management
Each one of the assignments will be an integral part of that area’s function and activities. The employee will report to an experienced manager and work in a team of other CNA Finance staff, many of whom have previously been part of the ARBA program. CNA has an established ARBA Program Committee to support the development of ARBA’s, as well as setting expectations and requirements of the program. Each ARBA will gain a broad portfolio of skills, competencies, and knowledge.
In addition to the on-the-job training received during each assignment, each ARBA participates in classroom training specifically developed for the program on insurance accounting and reporting and CNA’s specific accounting and reporting methodologies.
CNA offers support to employees to pursue the CPA designation and professional insurance designations.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
•Degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 12 hours of Accounting credits preferred
•A minimum 3.2 GPA is required (overall and major)
•CPA eligible preferred
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Demonstrated leadership ability
•Strong problem-solving and project management skills
•The ability to influence and develop collaborative relationships
•Interest in the insurance industry
•Interest in CNA as a long-term career opportunity
•Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

CNA Corporate Headquarters is located in the heart of Downtown Chicago in the Loop.
