The Startup GP Management Internship is an immersive and rigorous management program at the Greater Peoria Economic Development Council (GPEDC) for candidates exploring innovation and entrepreneurship as a potential career opportunity.
Who you will work with
Working side-by-side with the Director of Innovation and Startups and other key members of the GPEDC team. In addition to the general tasks required for this role, you will have significant opportunities to:
- Work on meaningful projects; building them from the ground up
- Engage and collaborate with stakeholders across the region
- Receive one-on-one coaching, and most importantly,
- Explore if innovation and startup life is for you.
What you will learn
During the internship, you will gain a practical understanding of how to run an early-stage business. Specifically, you will learn the following:
- How to identify and diagnose key problems to solve
- Deeply understand who are your customers and how they think
- Develop data-driven market strategies to create experiences that customers want to pay for
- Understand the financial aspects of how to run a sustainable business
- Expand the business and how to take it to the next level
