Finance Development Program (FDP) Intern_Summer 2020

Job Description Summary
A 10- to 12-week, project-oriented work assignment, the Financial Development Internship is designed to offer hands-on finance experience, exposure to strategic initiatives and lessons in the role finance plays in achieving business objectives. Interns will develop project management, business acumen, and communication skills over the course of the summer. The internship could lead to placement in the GE Appliances Financial Development Program upon graduation.


Essential Responsibilities
  • Assist in coordination and execution of financial planning sessions (quarterly/annually)
  • Assist in operating pulse reviews with management
  • Create process documentation where applicable
  • General ledger research and variance analysis
  • Provide financial analysis (overhead/headcount)
  • Balance sheet investigations
  • GE Appliances will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position
  • This position is located in Louisville, KY
  • Housing & Relocation assistance will be provided to eligible students

Required Qualifications
  • Must be full-time student currently enrolled in 4 year-college or university program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, math or related field
  • Must hold and maintain a minimum 3.0 out of 4.0 overall grade point average
  • Experience using Microsoft O365 including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States

Desired Qualifications
  • 1-2 semesters of accounting and/or finance coursework completed
  • Able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and ability to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, responsible and disciplined
