Sr. Research Technician / Research Assistant - Arthritis & Clinical Immunology

Job Summary/Basic Function
My laboratory is seeking a highly motivated, self-starter senior level technician with the ability to work with optimal resources and little direct supervision to address important questions in the genetics and genomics of the systemic lupus erythematosus, an autoimmune diseases. Successful candidates will be proficient in wide range of contemporary molecular biology techniques such as, high-throughput sequencing of DNA, RNA, and methylation, ChIP-Seq, ChIP-PCR, Single cell genomics, flow cytometry, cloning, cell culture, chromosome conformation capture, ChIP-qPCR, and genome CRISPR/Cas9 or similar approaches. Competitive individuals will also have some experience in the analysis of genetic data, high-throughput sequencing data and the use of bioinformatics software.

Minimum Qualifications
BA/BS degree in one of the biological sciences, physics, or chemistry or equivalent years of professional, paid, relevant laboratory experience. 

Should be familiar with lab techniques. Computer and data entry skills required. Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills and adherence to strict deadlines required. Must be professional, team oriented, personable and able to deal with diverse personalities and cultures. Must be able to take direction, follow instructions and keep meticulous records.

Preferred Qualifications
Molecular biology experience highly preferred. Previous experience with any of the following is a plus: DNA and RNA preparations, PCR genotyping, RT-PCR, qPCR, Western blotting, and cell culture. Data analysis experience is an advantage.

Work Hours
Typically Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm.
