Information Security Analyst Intern

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Pratum is looking for two motivated individuals to join our team as Information Security Analyst Interns for the Spring 2020 semester (Jan-May). As an analyst intern, you’ll support Pratum’s Security Operations Center (SOC) team. You’ll gain unmatched experience working alongside seasoned security analysts by assisting them to provide top-level service for our clients. This internship will provide you with valuable insight into the world of cybersecurity. 

Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to add digital forensics, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing to their resume.

DUTIES:
(70%) Ensure events generated from SIEM are reviewed and appropriate action is taken including additional investigation or escalation to next tier support team.
(10%) Perform vulnerability scanning and penetration testing of network infrastructure and applications.
(10%) Audit or review system architecture for compliance with best practices and/or regulatory compliance.
(10%) Review and recommend administrative, technical and physical controls to mitigate identified risk.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
You must be a student at one of the Iowa community colleges, private colleges, or institutions of higher learning under the control of the state board of regents;
OR a student who graduated from high school in Iowa but attends an institution of higher learning outside the state of Iowa.
You must be within ONE to TWO years of graduation. (Undergraduate or graduate student).
