Life Science Career Trainee - Opt E

Under direct supervision of the Waste Reduction and Compliance Section (WRCS) Manager, in the Bureau of Land (BOL), participates in an Agency sponsored training program up to twelve months in duration, receiving training and work assignments designed to develop knowledge, understanding and practical skills consonant with various professional life sciences career disciplines with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency; receives controlled assignments in a broad range of beginning level professional duties related to the routine scientific assurance and quality control; tracking for BOL Field Operations Section (FOS) solid waste and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) inspection and closure reports, violation notices, non-compliance advisory letters, Compliance Commitment Agreements (CCAs), Consent Orders, Non-hazardous Solid Waste Management Program (SWMP), and other enforcement actions. Travels in performance of duties.

Education & Experience: Requires a bachelor's degree in some field of the life sciences. · This class is included as an Upward mobility Program credential title.

Specific Job Requirements: Requires the ability to utilize a personal computer with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel software. Requires the ability to travel and a valid driver's license.
