Scientific Information Manager, PhD

Procter and Gamble Professional (PGP) is an exciting, growing and highly entrepreneurial business focused on improving the lives of our consumers when they are away from home. The broader Technical Services Organization (TSO) is charged with the installation, maintenance, and customer service/technical support of those systems. The Scientific Information Manager is a key role within TSO to provide competitive differentiation leveraging scientifically validated end-user procedures and leading science-based commercial innovation.
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
You will develop, coordinate and lead hygiene and sanitation “technical go to market solutions” for respective PGP businesses.
 
You will resolve day-to-day issues required to support our current base of customers working with and understanding the science behind PGP hygiene and sanitation programs.
 
You will lead scientific communications, Professional Relations and Technical Services teams to ensure an integrated plan is in place to deliver a winning professional influencer program.
 
You will work with external associations and local regulatory agencies to understand, educate and communicate key differentiators and competitive advantage.
 
You will lead TSO technical discussion focused primarily on current (base) products, equipment, and procedures.
 
You will work with P&G’s Regulatory and External Relations groups as needed to understand and communicate cleaning & sanitation issues/trends
 
You will help plan and support the evaluation process with the account handler and TSO to gain new business. This includes the identification of test success criteria, development of an evaluation to measure the success criteria, assure the evaluation is started/ended correctly and monitored on a timely basis, and the ability to help summarize compelling data.
 
You will develop or modify existing hygiene and sanitation procedures. Detect and prioritize new commercial opportunities – creating new ways to credential our products and reapplying successful plans from and with your counterparts in other professional areas of P&G with a scarcity of resource mindset.
 
You will help build organizational knowledge of the competition.

 We believe you will be an excellent fit if, you have:
 
A Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Microbiology or another physical and/or life science.
 
Strong technical and interpersonal skills.
 
Ability to become a technical specialist in working with Sales, Products Research, Product Development and large external P&G Professional customers.
 
An understanding of hygiene and sanitation compound chemistries and products with the willingness to acquire an in-depth knowledge of PGP products, procedures, equipment and regulatory issues that impact the away-from-home market.
 
Strategic decision-making skills and extraordinary trouble shooting skills to develop winning solutions while also possessing an innate curiosity to improve on the status quo. 
 
Live within 50 miles of Cincinnati, Ohio. Relocation is not offered for this role.
