Position Summary
The Internship Program with WPS Health Solutions is comprised of four key components. WPS interns will primarily focus on the responsibilities within their functional areas, as it relates to their respective field of study. In a group setting, interns will collaborate on the “Pay-It-Forward Project." The third component relates to exposure to corporate culture and training to aid in future career successes. At the conclusion of the program, interns will participate in a final presentation for senior executives by showcasing their experience in the program and functional areas.

In this role you will:
U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to Department of Defense restrictions.

  • Assist with analysis, design and support for Web/Internet applications
  • Code, test and integrate web applications
  • Provide technical assistance to clients and provide production support of company applications
  • Provide technical leadership on small to medium development efforts
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills (both verbal and written) with coworkers, clients and project managers
  • Research and recommend options for solving business and IT problems
  • Prepare specifications and documentation according to department standards.
  • Assist Quality Assurance teams in testing of applications
  • Utilize source control software to maintain integrity of production software, including prior versions of code
  • Follow defined Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Change Control processes

You should have:

  • Veteran or Active Military Member
  • Currently pursuing a degree in higher education or recent graduate, in areas such as Computer Science, Management Information System, Software Development, Information Technology, Mathematics, etc. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Demonstrated programming experience in languages such as Java, JavaScript, and HTML gained from an internship, academic, or project-based setting

It would be nice if you have:
  • Exposure to the agile methodology
