Position Summary
The Internship Program with WPS Health Solutions is comprised of four key components. WPS interns will primarily focus on the responsibilities within their functional areas, as it relates to their respective field of study. In a group setting, interns will collaborate on the “Pay-It-Forward Project." The third component relates to exposure to corporate culture and training to aid in future career successes. At the conclusion of the program, interns will participate in a final presentation for senior executives by showcasing their experience in the program and functional areas.

In this role you will:

  • Make modifications to moderately complex applications from detailed specifications
  • Assist more experienced Developers in the design, creation, deployment and maintenance of programs
  • Assist with analysis, design and support for department applications and programs.
  • Under direct supervision and guidance, analyze and prepare specifications and documentation according to department standards
  • Code, test and integrate applications
  • Aid in research and issue resolution for processing of business data
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills (both verbal and written) with coworkers, clients and project managers
  • Provide daytime and nighttime production support for applications to provide positive customer service
  • Participate in a support role for development efforts
  • Assist Quality Assurance teams in testing of applications
  • Utilize source control software to maintain integrity of production software, including prior versions of code
  • Follow defined Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Change Control processes

You should have:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in higher education or recent graduate, such as Data Processing, Computer Science, Information Systems, etc.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
