Los Angeles County Management Fellow - Hiring Fellows

This is an exciting opportunity to join with executives and professional staff to improve County operations and take them to the next level!

The Program:

The County Management Fellow program is designed to enhance County succession planning efforts and enable departments to invest in their future leadership. You will take part in a two-year program within a County department, perform meaningful work, and participate in a specialized assignment that supports strategic and operational goals. The program will also provide you with opportunities to develop skills that will help prepare you to compete for future County leadership positions.

You will have 160 hours of formal training during the course of the program. Our training curriculum allows you to develop and hone skills in areas like leadership, supervision, and more.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Some tasks that Management Fellows perform:

  • Plan and conduct studies on major departmental programs, operations, and administration to determine their effectiveness and the need for modification or changes in policies and procedures.
  • Analyze data and trends to make forecasts and recommendations for programs or administration in areas such as project management, IT, communications, legislation, and change management.
  • Develop and recommend policies, programs, or procedures to address issues or improve operations.
  • Work with a mentor to share experiences and gain advice for professional development.
