Intern, Corporate Environmental & Social Responsibility

Our comprehensive, 12-week paid internship program gives you the opportunity to test your skills working for the nation’s leading producer of cleaner fuels and developer of renewable chemicals. This internship will begin May 18, 2020 and end August 7, 2020.


POSITION PURPOSE : 
The purpose of this job is to encourage, track and report on corporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) efforts. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : 

Assist with data gathering, analysis and organization
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to expand data gathering and analysis relevant to ESG topics
• Provide data in organized package to influence decision-making

Support communication of REG’s ESG initiatives already underway
• Serve as an REG advocate in planning and collaborating on ESG messaging engaging internal and external team members, consultants and partners
• Draft and/or update content related to ESG initiatives 

Research best practices in ESG space
• Explore the needs of various REG stakeholders
• Identify growing trends and recommend possible areas for improvement within REG organization

Participate in ongoing implementation of ESG efforts into REG culture
• Engage with groups from across the organization to understand company culture
• Identify ways to enhance the existing culture and further incorporate ESG initiatives

Perform other duties as assigned 
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Required: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree – Liberal Arts, Environmental Studies, Marketing, Communications, Data Analytics, Economics, Business or related degree
Experience Required: Communications and analytical business experience
**Business environment experience, relevant courses, club participation and internship preferred
Skills Required: 
Advanced presentation skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strategic thinking
Cross-functional approach and collaboration
Strong analytical research
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)

Special skills or knowledge preferred:
Knowledge of and curiosity for environmental and social issues, including strategic risk and program management and monitoring/trend analysis
