ROLE SYNOPSIS
The Sales & Marketing internship provides an excellent introduction to a multi-faceted global business. The internship program features challenging project work, combined with numerous learning and development opportunities. Interns have the chance to learn from some of the most talented Sales & Marketing professionals and work alongside co-workers in Finance, Supply, and Strategy & Business Development. This dynamic business is fast-paced yet casual and conducive to learning and building new skills. Each intern is placed on an existing team within Sales & Marketing:
•           Business to Consumer & Business to Business Communications
•           Marketing Execution
•           Loyalty & Cards
•           Fuels Product Management
•           Offer Development
•           Customer & Consumer Insights
•           Branded Sales
•           Commercial Sales
•           Pricing & Optimization
•           Asset Management
•           Retail Operations
We develop each intern to be an integral part of the team’s success. You will receive support from managers mentors and peers throughout the summer. We give you the ability to interact with a variety of people, understand the global business, and add unique value to our group through your work. The location for this internship is in Chicago (IL).

Additional information
The internship is 12 weeks in length. Housing is provided at your work location as well as a competitive salary and benefits that would accrue if you return as a full-time employee. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements
• Must have cumulative and major GPA of 3.2 or higher
• BP will not support US Immigration sponsorship for the internship or full-time/long-term
employment
• Candidates must be domestically mobile and willing to relocate
• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications:
• Must be available for a continuous 12 week period for duration of internship
• Major in a Business discipline such as Finance, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Marketing or related field
• Students should be in the 3rd year of a four-year degree program or in the 4th year of a five-year program. Interns join us during the summer prior to their intended graduation year.
• Internships are not available for students who have completed their degree or who will graduate prior to the conclusion of the internship
 
DEVELOPMENT
Following the end of the internship, successful interns are assessed for a full-time role in our rotational Development Challenger Program. This highly selective three-year rotational program was developed to jump-start your career by providing a strong foundation of communication, social and leadership skills, as well as robust analytical and problem-solving abilities. This opportunity gives you the ability to gain critical experience and knowledge in your chosen area of concentration. Challengers in this program will spend two one-year rotations within Marketing & Sales and one rotation in either Procurement, Finance or Supply. You will gain exposure, knowledge, and experience to the overall Fuels North America business. Rotations could be in either Chicago (IL), La Palma (CA) or Blaine (WA). There is a facilitated placement into the organization after successful completion of the program.  Nothing prepares you better for a career at BP than an internship. SEGMENT
The Downstream segment has global manufacturing and marketing operations. It is the product and service-led arm of BP, made up of three businesses (Fuels, Lubricants, and Petrochemicals). The 4,400 employees of Fuels, North America refine, store, move, deliver and market a wide range of distinctive and high-quality energy products that drive economic growth. Our U.S. refineries in Indiana, Ohio and Washington have a net daily processing capacity of 746,000 barrels. We manage more than 3,200 miles of pipeline and, through our interest in BP Midstream Partners LP, have an ownership stake in nearly 1,500 additional miles. We also have a growing network of retail stations that provide fuels and convenience products to consumers at around 7,100 BP- and ARCO-branded sites, and close to 1,000 ampm convenience stores in California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona and Nevada.
