Safety Engineering Co-op

True Manufacturing is seeking a Safety Engineering Co-op to join our team from January to August. The Safety Engineering Co-op will participate as a member of the safety department with primary responsibility being managing the factory safety committees and various safety department projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
  • Perform job safety analysis of workstations.
  • Perform stop-time measurements on punch and break presses.
  • Review safety department programs.
  • Perform noise monitoring.
  • Perform routine ladder, chain and slings, and fall protection harness and lanyard inspections.
  • Participate and/or observe safety training sessions.
  • Participate in facility inspections performed by fire alarm companies, local fire inspectors, and insurance carrier inspectors, and other duties as assigned.
  • Regular and reliable attendance in the office is required.
  • This position requires work to be performed on-site at our corporate office and does not provide for working from home offices.
Qualifications
  • Full-time student pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in safety, industrial engineering or similarly related field.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Above average written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to be assertive and diplomatic when interacting with co-workers and factory team members.
  • Positive attitude, upbeat, team player and supportive of the direction and policies of the company.
  • Ability to think ahead, set daily and weekly goals and create action plans to achieve results.
  • Ability to multitask and follow up on all open issues in a fast-paced environment.
The duration of this co-op is January to August, Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.
