Application Developer Intern (Summer 2020)

The Application Development Intern position is responsible for participation in a 12-week (40 hours/week) Intern Program with specific emphasis on learning the primary responsibilities of various Application Development positions. Interns will actively participate in the assigned group intern project. This position will receive an hourly wage of $21 per hour, plus a $500 starting bonus.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
Assist with the development of applications using Microsoft Technologies (C#, .NET, Windows Server, Visual Studio, TSQL, etc.), and JavaScript/TypeScript.
Exposure to user-centered Agile development methodologies
Gain understanding of the resources, tools, technology and techniques used to create quality applications. This includes Continuous Integration deployments, test-driven development, unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing.
Observe and participate in team communications and decision making on various development tasks
Attend and participate in team meetings
Complete special projects and tasks assigned by the Vice President - Applications Development
Additional functions of the position may include:
Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Characteristics of an ideal candidate include: motivated team player, fast learner, passionate about technology, customer service oriented. Completed at least 2 years of college coursework including basic computer classes.
 
Duties require:
Demonstrated competence in decision-making and problem solving
Strong computer literacy and proficiency in data query tools.
Leadership and judgment to analyze, evaluate, and develop solutions to complex problems.
Experience in project leadership involving cross-functional teams and outside consultants or vendors.
Provide sound technical advice to leadership and other team members in the subject field(s) related to this position.
Ability to interpret policy, programs, and regulations.
Strong working knowledge of data management, statistics, accounting, and computer applications.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and effectively demonstrate team building attitude and skills.
Proficient in Windows environment using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer.
