Summary of Work

Review ground water permit applications in assigned area and make recommendations to the State Engineer.
Inspect completed water projects for permit compliance and perfection.
Document, organize, analyze and interpret hydrologic data.
Provide technical advice on water resource problems and complaints.
Conduct water resource investigations and studies.
Supervise subsurface exploration group in drilling test holes and installing monitoring wells in project areas.



Minimum Qualifications

Master’s of Science degree in the field of geology, hydrology, engineering or closely related field with a hydrogeology emphasis.
Ability to communicate with, motivate and/or change behavior of others in working toward common goals.
Valid Class D driver’s license.
 


Preferred Qualifications

Extensive coursework or work experience in hydrology, hydrogeology, groundwater modeling, water resource management and regulation. 
Ability to interpret maps, hydrologic data, groundwater studies and reports.
Ability to write scientific reports for water management decisions.
