UI/UX Designer Internship (Summer 2020)

What you'll do:

Principal is passionately interested in our customers and we strive to learn everything we can about their behaviors, attitudes, and emotions to help define the digital experiences we create. Work includes human-centered research methods, iterative prototyping, interaction design, and usability testing. HTML, CSS and JavaScript skills are preferred along with interaction design skills, working knowledge of adobe suites and other wireframing tools like Balsamiq. 
Our IT internship program offers opportunities for 85+ IT interns and has a strong reputation with over 20 years of history. You’ll work on real projects with a range of team members, including other interns through senior level management. We'll place you in a role customized to your expertise and interests, all while working in a collaborative Agile team environment. This is an excellent opportunity to understand and learn more about Principal’s IT Engineering culture!
You can also look forward to a four-day, non-stop Code Jam where you’ll get creative free rein to develop a technical solution that will be pitched to a multinational corporation for a real, live business need. Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment or has a degree in an accredited program of study related to IT, engineering, or other correlated areas (ex: computer science, MIS, engineering, etc.)
  • Minimum 2.8 Cumulative GPA
  • Involvement in your community
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • A passion for technology and solving problems
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  •  Intermediate Level Programming Skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.)
  •  Leadership positions within student, work or community organizations
  • Past internship or work experience

How we hire:
