Our largest department, Information Technology, is now hiring for IT Interns in our South Sioux City, Nebraska, office. Our interns can be found in: Software Development, Business Technology Services, Technical Support, and Business Intelligence.

To be successful in our IT internships you will be:
  • Enrolled and actively attending an accredited college or university working towards a degree in an IT, Mathematics, or a Statistics-related field.
  • Highly motivated with strong customer service and communication skills.
  • A self-starter who is eager to learn new tools and contribute to business projects.
  • Able to follow direction, work independently, and work as a collaborative team member.

IT Internship Categories:

Software Developer Intern (2 Openings)
We currently have two openings for Software Developer Interns. The start dates are:
  • 1 Opening -- January 2020
  • 1 Opening -- May 2020
In order to gain the best experience possible, we need our Software Developer Interns to work full time during the summer and recommend he/she continue to work part-time during the school year. Here are some things you will be doing:
  • Hands-on work with leading edge technology on real projects that have a direct impact on the business
  • Write code that will actually be utilized by our organization
  • Work in an agile environment as part of a team who is willing to help guide and support your projects and learning
  • Provided the opportunity to work directly with the business owners (c-suite)
  • Learn and work with our development team to build your skills in many different languages such as: JAVA, JavaScript, .Net, HTML5, and CSS3 to name a few.

Business Technology Services Intern (2 Openings)
We currently have two openings for Business Technology Services Interns. The start dates are:
  • Desktop Support Intern -- May 2020
  • QA Software Testing Intern-- May 2020
In order to gain the best experience possible, we need our Business Technology Services Interns to work full time during the summer and recommend he/she continue to work part-time during the school year.
Here are some things you will be doing as a Desktop Support Intern:
  • Assist with equipment moves.
  • Install software and help with PC builds, tablet, and phone set ups.
  • Focus on the desktop technology experience by providing excellent customer service.
Here are some things you will be doing as a QA Software Testing Intern:
  • Work on the development of ServiceNow for the organization.
  • Write and execute test cases for our software programs including our claims system. 
  • Apply your knowledge and education to complete Business Process reviews. 
  • Exercise your technical skills in Java Scripting and HTML coding to enhance business objectives.

Technical Support Intern (2 Openings)
We currently have two openings for Technical Services Interns. The start dates are:
  • 1 Opening -- Fall 2019
  • 1 Opening -- May 2020
In order to gain the best experience possible, we need our Technical Services Interns to work full time during the summer and recommend he/she continue to work part-time during the school year. Here are some things you will be doing:
  • Gain experience working with ServiceNow and Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Use scripting language to create automated processes for the business.
  • Install or customize software products and hardware.
  • Work with a variety of departments giving you the opportunity to use many different technology platforms and communication tools.
  • Provide practical IT skills using knowledge of coding and object-oriented languages (Java, HTML, and CSS), relational databases (DB2, SQL, and JCL), and Microsoft SharePoint.

Business Intelligence Intern (1 Opening)
We currently have one opening for a Business Intelligence Intern to start in May 2020. In order to gain the best experience possible, we need our Business Intelligence Intern to work full time during the summer and recommend he/she continue to work part-time during the school year. This internship is unique in that underclassmen are encouraged to apply.
Here are some things you will be doing:
  • Enhance or create BI dashboards and applications for management decision making and productivity.
  • Review internal and external sources of data to better understand work-flow processes and trends.
  • Have the opportunity to experience practical application of project management.
  • Train and educate end users on how to get the data and use the application to its fullest.
