ROLE SYNOPSIS
The Petrophysicist will be supporting a multi-disciplinary R&D team of geologists, geophysicists, and petroleum engineers and will provide deep understanding and expertise in petrophysical field studies. The key job duties and accountabilities will include:

• Provide high quality deep petrophysical expertise to the Integrated Reservoir Description R&D Program using petrophysics technology and methodology to deliver new wells and reservoir surveillance
• Provide discipline input within BP’s global petrophysics network to identify petrophysical parameters that are critical to the evaluation of Exploration and/or Development projects
• Provider of specialist technical support to BP’s strategic performance units to build on in-house petrophysical evaluation expertise through best practice development
• Develop techniques and workflows that set BP’s expectations for petrophysical evaluation
• Engage in log quality control and analysis, integrated data analysis and development of models of appropriate seismic responses for key petrophysical parameters for technical assurance for the business
• Contribute to the development of training materials to help embed these techniques within the global community
• Provide technical supervision, guidance and mentorship for less experienced petrophysicists

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements
• Must have cumulative and major GPA of 3.2 or higher
• On a case-by-case basis, BP will support US Immigration sponsorship for full-time or long-term employment
Preferred Requirements
• Seeking a Masters or PhD degree
• Majoring in Earth Sciences, Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering, or other closely related discipline
• Students should be one or two years away from completing their graduate degree
• Graduating in May 2020, or anytime in 2019, 2018, or 2017

SEGMENT
The Upstream segment is responsible for our activities in oil and natural gas exploration, field development and production, as well as midstream transportation, storage and processing. We also market and trade natural gas, including liquefied natural gas, power and natural gas liquids.
We deliver our exploration, development and production activities through five global technical and operating functions:
• The exploration function is responsible for renewing our resource base through access, exploration and appraisal, while the reservoir development function is responsible for the stewardship of our resource portfolio over the life of each field.
• The global wells organization and the global projects organization are responsible for the safe, reliable and compliant execution of wells (drilling and completions) and major projects.
• The global operations organization is responsible for safe, reliable and compliant operations, including upstream production assets and midstream transportation and processing activities.
We optimize and integrate the delivery of these activities across 12 regions, with support provided by global functions in specialist areas of expertise: technology, finance, procurement and supply chain, human resources and information technology.
