Fitness Intern

The Fitness Intern is responsible for supporting the fitness programming and outreach initiatives of Exact Sciences’ Fitness team through general fitness coaching, program promotion, programming support, and employee onboarding support.

  • Support the marketing and promotion of fitness and opportunities offered to employees.
  • Compile, analyze, and audit data to inform the fitness team of statistics relating to fitness program success, participation, and opportunities.
  • Champion fitness participation initiatives by actively engaging employees in opportunities to get involved and the benefits of involvement in the company’s fitness and wellness program.
  • Provide general fitness education to employees visiting the fitness center.
  • Support the design and implementation of fitness projects based on monthly or quarterly wellness focus of the organization.
  • Compile information and contribute to employee newsletters, bulletins and online articles.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance, cleaning, and equipment storage in the fitness center(s).
  • Assist with annual employee biometric screenings program and follow up including data interpretation and programming support.
  • Research latest trends in corporate/large-scale fitness programing and engagement strategies and statistics.
  • Support the implementation of new tools and systems.
  • Play an active role on wellness committee.
  • Collaborate with interns across all departments for projects.
  • Actively participate in sessions with Exact Sciences senior leadership.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to work independently on concurrent projects.

  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds for approximately 40% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to work seated for approximately 30% of a typical working day. Ability to work standing for approximately 70% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to grasp with both hands; pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height.
  • Ability to work on a computer and phone simultaneously.
  • Ability to use a telephone through a headset.
  • Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Ability and means to travel between Madison locations.
