HSE Spring Intern

HSE Spring Internship Opportunity

Internship description:
This opportunity will provide a great overview of what a career in ergonomics often looks like. The main objective for this internship is to apply knowledge in ergonomics to workplace safety at Safran Test Cells. You will also assist with training employees and supporting HSE initiatives at Safran Test Cells.

Responsibilities:
·        Create and implement an ergonomics program for office desk and chair set up, working off site and using the gym
·        Research and present a method to collect injury and incident data
·        HSE program review – program(s) for review will be determined at the beginning of the internship
·        Present a written program with clear instructions
·        Conduct employee health and safety training

Requirements:
·        Pursuing a career in HSE – Senior or Masters student in a related field: Occupational Health and Safety, Ergonomics, Safety Science
·        Coursework or prior work experience in ergonomics and body mechanics
·        Coursework or prior work experience in program development and implementation
·        Coursework or prior work experience training others
·        Broad understanding of OSHA regulations
·        Strong written and verbal communication skills
·        Organizational and interpersonal skills
·        Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Paid Internship: $20/hr

Duration: January – May 2020; up to 40 hours a week
