UTC Financial Leadership Program

United Technologies Corporation, a Fortune top 50 company is a dynamic global corporation operating at the leading edge of commercial and military aviation, aerospace systems, climate control, elevator design, security and fire protection.

UTC is looking for Accounting, Finance, and Business majors with demonstrated leadership ability and strong academic performance to join our Finance Leadership Program.
Summary
The Financial Leadership Program (FLP) is an entry-level, two-year rotational program that exposes recent college graduates to United Technologies business units. The Financial Leadership Program can give you an opportunity to join one of the largest companies in the world with market leading products that are everywhere on earth. The FLP builds upon formal education with amazing experiences in a culture that values ethics, the environment and financial performance.

FLP associates not only build solid analytical and communication skills, but they also acquire a greater appreciation for teamwork and leadership. During the two-year program, each associate completes four, six-month assignments throughout various functional areas in various business units.
The FLP recruits highly motivated college graduates who demonstrate leadership ability and academic excellence and prepares them for a successful career within UTC. Potential participants must be proven team players, who possess excellent technical competence, initiative, and demonstrate enthusiasm for learning.
Position Description
During the candidate's time in the program other rotational assignments are available in accounting and finance departments throughout Pratt & Whitney, Collins Aerospace and UTC Corporate Headquarters. Our commitment to you is to provide front-line, hands-on, meaningful assignments designed to stretch your capabilities and enhance your learning. Each associate will have the opportunity to experience different functional rotations: Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Operations, and General Finance such as Internal Audit or Strategy & Development. Rotations are primarily located in Connecticut with extensive opportunities outside of Connecticut in California, Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Texas, and a number of other domestic locations. A small number of international assignments are also available in Canada, Singapore and the UK.

The program provides training and a continuing educational focus to supplement the rotational experience, through seminars and various case studies. The FLP associate will also receive mentoring and guidance from leading UTC executives, current FLP associates and FLP alumni. In addition to training provided within the program, associates are eligible to take the GMAT, CPA, and CFA exams with reimbursement provided.

UTC Employees are eligible to participate in UTC’s Employee Scholar Program. This program allows employees to pursue a college or graduate degree in a field applicable to UTC with 100% coverage for tuition, books and fees.
Qualifications  
The recruitment cycle for the UTC Financial Leadership Program runs through the fall of
2019. Please note: The next Cohort of associates will start in July 2020.

Selection for the UTC Financial Leadership Program will be based on the following minimum criteria:
- Applicant must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or other business concentrations
- Strong academic performance, minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 (at time of application)
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Leadership in extracurricular organizations
- Relevant internships or co-op experiences within Finance/Accounting function
- Up to one year of professional work experience
-This is a rotational program that requires you to rotate assignments/locations 4 times
over the course of 2 years

Education  
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, and other business disciplines. Also accepting candidates with graduate degrees who also hold a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or other business concentration. The FLP is an entry level program and target applicants with up to one year of professional work experience.
