Co-Op Procurement - RCH 2616

3 or 6 month block / May - August or December / 40 hours per week / $15.38 - $21.23
*Housing allowance available to eligible candidates

Your Role:
As a Global Supply Chain Co-Op in Corporate Procurement, you will experience the daily routine and expectations of a self-sufficient entry-level Commodity Manager with a manager and a mentor for support. You will be responsible for developing and executing a Commodity Strategy, contract and sourcing negotiations, new supplier development and on-boarding, and participating in cross-functional team opportunities with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Sales. There will also be opportunities for international experiences with global suppliers and our Toyota Global Teams. You will also utilize the latest Procurement tools for sourcing, quoting, contracting, and risk mitigation.
 
Your Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute commodity and project strategies for assigned or conceived projects
  • Navigate and Update SAP price files / PIR's and query SAP for executable reports
  • Lead projects and guide cross functional teams from Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Finance that deliver short- and long-term business enhancements
  • Support and manage supplier performance ratings through QCDM metrics and supplier report cards
  • Report and present project status and results to senior level Procurement management
  • Apply leading edge and progressive supply chain techniques with suppliers in support of business goals and objectives

Your Key Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management
  • Basics of Supply Chain Management coursework completed with the desire to use those skills on real world problems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs including: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Effective project management skills and a confident leadership attitude and style
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with a diverse group of individual contributors and leadership staff
Preferred:
  • SAP and SAP Ariba experience
  • Effective negotiating skills and the desire to strive for "Win-Win" results
  • Strong presentation skills -- comfortable presenting to a diverse audience including senior management
  • Successful problem solving skills with curiosity to work outside the norm and try new solutions

Corporate Procurement and Supply Chain is a multi-disciplinary group responsible for the evaluation, selection, and negotiation of Suppliers of goods and services that support production.
