Software Quality Assurance Intern

Software Quality Assurance Intern
As a software QA tester, you will focus on testing the functionality and design of several robotics and electro-mechanical products. Our engineers are rapidly developing solutions to solve unsolved problems, and we need to ensure they are thoroughly tested. This position requires hands on abilities to test new algorithms and software on both physical hardware and in simulated environments. Role/Responsibilities:

  • Work with cross-disciplined teams of engineers to implement innovative solutions to one-of-a-kind robotics systems 
  • Design, implement, execute, and maintain test cases based on design specifications
  • Perform full system tests for complex robots and hardware-heavy prototypes
  • Prioritize testing activities to help development team meet deadlines
  • Work with development team to quickly verify fixes
  • Define, track, and take ownership of quality metrics
  • Report and document bugs found through testing
  • Be a vocal proponent for maintaining quality throughout every phase of the development process

 Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a similar Engineering field
  • Excellent analytical, debugging, and root-cause analysis skills
  • Strong programming foundation including experience with one or more of: C, C++, Rust, Python, ROS, QML
  • Knowledge of QA testing and associated methodologies
  • Background in building automated testing frameworks and tools
  • Experience with Git
Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed Monday through Friday with occasional overtime and weekend requirements.
  • Safety awareness is absolutely essential at all times while in the work area.
  • Must be able to stand and sit for extended times.
