As a Data Science Intern, you will help us discover the information hidden in the vast amounts of our data, and help us make smarter decisions to deliver even better products to our consumers. Your primary focus will be in applying data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems integrated with our products.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, evaluation and deployment of models
- Collect, clean, and transform our data for analyses
- Ability to learn Hy-Vee’s business and opportunities our industry is facing
- Collaborate with other team members to develop ideas and skills
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Required:
- Intellectual curiosity
- Excellent communication skills
- Problem-solving aptitude
Advantageous:
- Python, SQL, Hadoop
- Data Visualization Tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau)
- Experience in data mining
- Strong math skills (e.g. statistics, algebra)
- Working towards BS/BA in Computer Science, Mathematics or relevant field; graduate degree in Data Science or other quantitative field is preferred
