Research Technician II in Pediatric Brain Imaging

The Childhood Movement Disorders Laboratory has an open position for the role of research technician II.
The primary responsibility in this position will be processing research imaging data (from MRI and PET scans). Preparing images for analysis involves a combination of ready-made software packages and custom-generated programs, and often includes designing new programs and utilities for new research questions. Applicants must feel comfortable interacting with patients and families and will serve as a coordinator for research studies. Applicants must be comfortable with coding in some language; specific experience coding in Linux is highly desirable, especially using shell scripts for data collection and image manipulation. Use of imaging analysis tools such as FSL, Freesurfer, and ITK Snap is desired but not required. Knowledge of Python and/or Matlab is beneficial but not required. Experience in database management is beneficial but not required.

We require a two year commitment to the lab, understanding that many students transition between undergraduate and subsequent educational or work opportunities. This position is an ideal springboard to an application for medical, dental, or other graduate school.

Qualifications:
BS or BA in computer science, engineering, or other physical science discipline. Those nearing graduation are welcome to apply.
Those without a major in these disciplines who can demonstrate proficiency in Linux or a similar programming language are welcome to apply.
