BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES:
Work with purchasing team on variety of duties such as products, credits, freight rates, and orders for subsidiary locations.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Accountable and Reports to (Job Title):        Assistant Vice-President, Produce Purchasing
Positions that Report to you (Job Title):        None
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND FREQUENCY:
  1. Update product groups and subgroups in OMI system.
  2. Work with purchasing team to keep freight rates up to date on weekly basis.
  3. Use available technology to keep department and teams organized and efficient.
  4. Reviews produce orders via the telephone from the stores.
  5. Calculates quantities of certain items to determine product for sale.
  6. Processes credits to stores.
  7. Monitors the reserve system as loads are received.
  8. Helps handle orders for our subsidiaries.
  9. Help team with vacation coverage and assist other teams when needed.
6.) Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:   (These are considered occasional in nature)
  1. Assists with special sales to stores.
  2. Fills in as needed throughout the department.
  3. Enters ad items into system for following week.
  4. Performs other job related duties and special projects as required.

None
   
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB:
  • Must have the ability to solve practical problems; variety of variables with limited standardization; interpret instructions.
  • Ability to copy data from one record to another; interview to obtain basic information; process mail; write form letters or routine correspondence; and have increased contact with people.
  • Ability to do arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.

  • Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
  • Visual requirements include clarity of vision at 20 inches or less up to 20 feet or more with or without correction.
  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Fingering, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
   
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The duties of this position are performed in an office setting. There is frequent pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects in a day.
EQUIPMENT USED TO PERFORM JOB:
10 key calculator, FAX, copier, telephone, printer, and PC.
   
CONFIDENTIALITY:
Has access to confidential information including pricing.
   
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:
None
   
CONTACTS:
Has daily contact with store personnel, DND, and produce warehouse.
