Packaging Corporation of America is seeking an IT Intern/Co-Op in Lake Forest, IL.

We are currently looking for someone who will be available January 2020-August 2020. Start and end dates are negotiable.

Position Summary:
 
The IT department is PCA’s communication and networking backbone supporting a geographically expansive, growing manufacturing organization. Our mission is to:

Information Technology Roles and Training at PCA:
IT employees are trained in the following areas of expertise:
·        Application Development
·        Cyber Security
·        Identity Management
·        Network Infrastructure
·        Process Controls

Principal Accountabilities:
·        The Intern/Co-Op will be responsible for deploying, utilizing, and troubleshooting SCCM Agent connectivity, remote control, inventory queries and reports.
·        The Intern/Co-Op will be responsible for providing support in the provisioning, administration, and maintenance of Storage Systems and Servers within the PCA IT infrastructure. This includes becoming familiar with all aspects of PCA servers and storage systems.
·        Installing and configuring VMWare vSphere 6.x.
·        Responding to remedy tickets regarding issues in the IT environment.
·        The Intern/Co-Op will be responsible for the physical installation of networking equipment that sometimes requires the use of a ladder or mechanical lift.
·        Configuration of networking equipment and firewalls including Layer 2 and Layer 3 of the ISO model.
·        Troubleshooting network related issues and assist other groups in troubleshooting and isolating application issues.
·        Shipping and receiving equipment to/from PCA locations nationwide.

Basic Qualifications:
 
·        Undergraduate coursework related to Information Technology.
·        Previous IT-related work experience.
·        Overall minimum GPA 3.0/4.0.
