Quality Technician- 2nd shift

Quality Technician 2nd shift 2-10:30 pm
Department: Quality/Regulatory
Location: Carol Stream, IL
 
Summary
Primary responsibility for daily and assigned project QA/QC activities associated with in-process inspections for manufacturing and warehouse. Equipment swabbing, room clearance, sample verification and work order review.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 
Perform production in-process inspections at the required frequencies which include label approvals, CCP verification, and weight checks and manufacture pre- and post-operational review.
 
Generate associated documentation and communicate non-conformances.
 
Perform physical comparison of manufactured product. (Color, Odor, Appearance)
 
Perform sieve analysis on raw and blended materials.
 
Perform ATP, EMP, Allergen and equipment swabbing.
 
Assist in the completion of Allergen, EMP, Sanitation and HACCP validation.
 
Perform daily pre- and post-operational verification in log books.
 
Ensure all employees are following all Food Safety and worker safety practices, and educate on discrepancies when found.
 
Perform monthly internal GMP audits.
 
Complete and maintain sRCA and incident investigations.
 
Assist in quality related training activities.
 
Assist in hygienically taking production pre-shipment samples.
 
Keeps abreast of current regulations and industry standards.
 
Abide by all food safety programs, and monitor area for food safety adherence.
 
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Associates degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two year college or university in a scientific discipline with one to three years related experience and/or training. Bachelors degree (B.S.) or equivalent from a four year college or university in scientific discipline with academia related experience and/or training.
 
Language Skills
Ability to read, understand and interpret regulatory information, industry standards, and International and Federal Food Regulations. The ability to format and create regulatory/quality documents where necessary.
 
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Thorough understanding of unit conversions.
 
Reasoning Ability
Ability to make educated judgments on correctness, accuracy, and appropriateness of information. Must be able to organize, prioritize and make decisions.
 
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of ERP systems; Database software; Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Must be comfortable collecting and interpreting data.
 
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to lift and/or move a 50 pound box/container infrequently.
