Investment Banking Summer Analyst - 2020
Genesis Capital is an independent investment and merchant bank in Atlanta, GA. We have expertise in mergers & acquisitions (sell-side and buy-side), capital raises and structuring, valuations, restructuring, and fairness opinions. Our clients include family-owned businesses, privately-held companies, public corporations and private equity firms. We serve our clients based on need as opposed to size and concentrate in industries in which our bankers have experience and relationships, including business services, consumer/retail, healthcare, industrial, media/entertainment, technology and telecom.
Each year, Genesis Capital offers a summer internship for rising college seniors. Candidates should be in their junior year, pursuing a degree in any major, have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement (specifically in finance and accounting); possess strong analytical, quantitative, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills; and are able to work independently and as part of a team. Candidates must be extremely motivated and possess a high degree of maturity.
The position requires a 12-week commitment and allows summer interns to participate in mergers & acquisitions in a wide range of industries. Interns will research and analyze financial statements, general economic conditions, industry specific conditions and trends, acquisitions and divestitures, and various investment attributes of both privately-held and publicly-traded companies. Responsibilities include financial statement analysis, financial modeling, valuation analysis, preparing presentation and offering materials, and conducting industry and company research, among other tasks. Due to the small size of the firm, the environment at Genesis Capital is collegial and rewards interns with substantial learning and unparalleled deal experience.
Please keep in mind that we will evaluate resumes as they are received, and schedule interviews accordingly.
Our prior summer interns have accepted full-time positions with Genesis Capital as well as leading, national investment banks and private equity firms, including Audax Group, Banc of America Securities, Citigroup Corporate and Investment Banking, Duff & Phelps, Guggenheim Partners, Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zurkin, Lazard, SunTrust Robinson-Humphrey and Roark Capital.
