Security Intern (Grinnellink)
The Security Intern will experience the day-to-day activities for supporting employees of a high-tech software company. To ensure that this is a well-rounded, real-world experience, the intern will receive guidance from senior team members and will participate in team meetings.
Responsibilities
- Assist IT Security staff with closing IT Security support tickets.
- Run vulnerability scans and write reports for remediation.
- Monitor and research attempted or successful efforts to compromise systems security.
- Assist with managing and running annual audits.
- Assist with regular log review and analysis
- Assist in writing monthly Security awareness newsletter.
- Assist in managing and maintaining IT Security infrastructure.
- Prepare and/or modify system and process documentation.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of IT Security (CIA triad, OWASP top 10, vulnerability/threat/exploit)
- Basic knowledge of server hardware and configurations (including web servers)
- Basic knowledge of Networking (TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, Firewalls, OSI Model, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of server operating systems (Microsoft Windows Server, Linux Server)
- Basic knowledge of Windows Active Directory Services
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with a team of professionals on technical and business issues
