Business Systems Analyst Intern

TrueNorth Companies, headquartered in downtown Cedar Rapids, Iowa is currently seeking energetic and motivated individuals to participate in our Summer 2020 Internship Program.

TrueNorth is now hiring for a Business Systems Analyst Intern to work with our Technology team, to analyze current business solutions and make recommendations for utilization and process improvements. 

As a Business Systems Analyst Intern, you will:
  • Identify opportunities to increase productivity, efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction, as well as, look for opportunities to reduce expense and eliminate waste
  • Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to understand business needs and translate into thorough and detailed business requirement documentation that can be presented to all levels of management, customers, development teams and vendors
  • Conduct research to determine in solutions to business requirements currently exist within the organization and if not, whether new solutions are feasible
  • Collaborate with vendors and/or developers on business requirements and implementation of new features
  • Implement enhancements to business applications; keep current on new features and functionality to create recommendations for process improvements, best practices and utilization of the systems
  • Create and/or provide input to the development of formal business cases when new or enhanced business solutions are proposed
  • Consider the impact to current and future business environments and processes, assessing upstream & downstream effect of system and reporting changes
  • Work with the business to develop detailed user acceptance test cases and flows. Including devising test plans, creating test cases, establishing protocols and appropriate testing environments and coordinating testing
  • Manage the implementation of business solutions projects and ensure successful project outcomes by following project management processes and procedures

Education & Experience:
  • Must be currently pursuing a degree in MIS, Technology, Business or a related field
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Extremely accurate with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; specifically intermediate Excel skills
