2020 Technology Sophomore Summer Analyst Program in New York

Description

The Technology Sophomore Diversity Summer Analyst Program provides talented college sophomores from diverse backgrounds with first-hand technology experience in the financial services industry. The program offers outstanding sophomores from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds (Female, African American, Hispanic/Latino and/or Native American, LGBTQ, veterans, or individuals with disabilities) the opportunity to participate in a 10-week summer internship program at Credit Suisse in New York City. Additionally, students who successfully complete the program may be eligible for a junior year internship program offer. Participants are selected based on their academic excellence, leadership ability, and interest in financial services.

The Information Technology Division of Credit Suisse has more than 11,000 highly skilled IT professionals who work globally using nearly every conceivable area of technology, from complex programming and service delivery management to systems architecture. We are a creative, agile, and highly reliable technology solutions organization with primary IT centers located in Zurich, New York, London, Singapore, Raleigh, Pune, and Wroclaw.



Training & Program Description

You will attend a one day company orientation followed by two days of training and then start work in your group for the summer, receiving further training while on the job. Your learning experience will continue through the summer speaker series, where you’ll hear from senior representatives across the divisions. To help you determine your strengths and plan your career, Summer Analysts are matched with mentors within Information Technology, who provide advice and mentorship throughout the summer. You will also participate in networking events and firm-wide events that will help ensure that you are exposed to all the areas within the bank and understand the big picture of a global investment bank. You will be tasked with an end of summer presentation for senior management to help expand your knowledge and develop presentation skills. The summer is structured to have a balance of work, social events and networking opportunities.

Qualifications

To apply for this opportunity, you should be in your sophomore year at a four-year college or university (graduating in December 2021 or May/June 2022) and from one of the traditionally underrepresented backgrounds (Female, African American, Hispanic/Latino and/or Native American, LGBTQ, veterans, or individuals with disabilities). Credit Suisse is noted for the diversity of its employees, but seeks candidates with a common set of abilities – highly motivated and creative individuals who have proven academic achievement, and have the ability to work independently and as a member of a team. The Sophomore Program provides talented college sophomores from diverse backgrounds with first-hand experience in the financial services industry. The program offers outstanding college sophomores from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds (Female, African American, Hispanic/Latino and/or Native American, LGBTQ, veterans, or individuals with disabilities) the opportunity to participate in a ten-week summer internship program at our offices in New York City. Additionally, students who successfully complete the summer internship program will be eligible to receive a $5,000 scholarship and may be invited back for a junior year internship.
The program offers:
  • A company orientation, followed by divisional training before starting work in your group for the summer. 
  • A mentor to help you determine your strengths and plan your career.
  • Access to the senior leaders who can provide support and guidance throughout the summer. 
  • Networking and firm-wide events that will expose you to all the areas within the Bank, and provide a broader sense of our organization.
  • A balance of work, social events and networking opportunities.
