Intern - Production Planning

SUMMARY: As a Production Planning Summer Intern, you will be responsible for working/learning various aspects of the Production Planning responsibilities in areas of: Beef, Pork, Grinds, Value-Added and Information Services. This position will learn and perform tasks as needed on daily inventory control, production schedules, customer service levels and product availability. Production Planning performs as a hub for various other departmental functions and therefore this position will have exposure to numerous areas of the company including but not limited to: Sales, Operations, Pricing, Material Handling, FSQA, and Procurement. Project work will be assigned as needed for assisting company needs deemed appropriate at the time. Other daily tasks and duties will also be assigned to assist in the understanding of departmental objectives.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Students will be sourced from a 4 year College or University program; must be in good standing; Business/Logistics/Supply Chain majors preferred.

Experience: Knowledge/experience in any related field preferred.

Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

Special Skills: Ability and willingness to work and learn in a fast-paced multi-task environment with strong analytical skills.

Position Specific Requirements: This is a 10-12 week internship and is tentatively scheduled to start middle May and end middle August. Must be enrolled in a college or university with degree-seeking status. Housing assistance is available for qualified candidates.
