System Support Technician

Position Summary: The System Support Technician is responsible for setting up and carrying out regular maintenance on computers and their networks as well as providing software support, training, and troubleshooting to end-users to ensure the efficient flow of company information. This position also assists the Systems Administrator with server administration and software application deployment and implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides support for workstations, networking, and system infrastructure with a focus on system administration and configuration.
  • Provides support to admin team for application installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Maintains strong understanding of organizational infrastructure across client systems, networking hardware, topology, server infrastructure and application systems.
  • Provides support for software licensing across the organization.
  • Use the IT Help Desk request system to document, prioritize, and track requests.
  • Develops documentation and training for both internal IT processes and end-user needs.
  • Creates and manages desktop deployments for Operating Systems and other applications.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information effectively.

  • Able to work alone on a broad variety of projects.
  • Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in course of work.
  • Willingness to work additional hours in order to meet tight deadlines.

  • MS Hyper-V Virtualization (preferred)
  • MS SharePoint 2013 Administration (preferred)
  • MS System Center Service Manager (SCSM) (preferred) 

Education and Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) 
  • Relevant training or certification preferred
  • 1 year of experience required (3 preferred)

Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
