Location: Sheetz, Inc. - Claysburg, PA
Sheetz, Inc. is looking for a Safety Specialist to support the safety initiatives for stores, warehouse & distribution services, food production, construction, and store maintenance in support of the Senior Safety Manager. The position requires the ability to recognize, evaluate and eliminate/control all industrial/construction risks through technical knowledge and expertise, while at the same time promoting a positive safety culture.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (other duties may be assigned)
1. Assist in the development of, perform, document and track safety training.
2. Assist in the development of and maintain safety programs
3. Perform industrial hygiene sampling
4. Attend, participate and perform presentations in safety committees/meetings
5. Assist in regulatory audit processes
6. Participate in near miss/incident investigations
7. Perform or coordinate the process for inspecting and maintaining safety equipment
8. Assist in the closure of audit and inspection findings
9. Perform routine compliance based observations
10. Work with the Sheetz Team to promote a proactive safety culture
REQUIREMENTS: (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses,certifications and/or experience may be considered)
Education
- 4 year degree in safety science or safety engineering required.
Experience
- Internship to 1 years’ safety experience within construction or general industry
Licenses/Certifications
- Valid Driver’s License
