Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager - Bradford Shawsheen Coating Technologies - Andover and Lowell, MA

Bradford Shawsheen Coating Technologies seeks a highly motivated and enthusiastic Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager to join their team in Andover and Lowell, MA. As EH&S Manager, you will assume responsibility for employee health, safety, and environmental compliance for BSCT; in addition to administration of programs and policies related to health, safety, and environmental management.
 
The EH&S Manager position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse team of engineers and scientists to address complex environmental challenges by executing the below roles/responsibilities.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
·     Manage all federal, state, and local environmental programs (Air, SPCC, Storm Water, etc.) and permits and ensure compliance
·     Act as company representative with government agencies in environmental, safety, and health matters affecting the company
·     Establish facility EH&S goals and metrics
·     Conduct incident reviews and investigate root causes to identify short, long-term and timely corrective actions as necessary
·     Ensures all EH&S accidents, injuries, near misses, and other events are captured and the data is managed and reported
·     Manage OSHA recordkeeping requirements and reporting process
·     Present and communicate to all levels of the organization, and maintain confidentiality
·     Lead plant Safety Committee and manage security function at BSCT facilities
·     Lead, initiate, manage and support a philosophy of continuous improvement in environmental, health, and safety areas
·     Keep abreast of environmental regulations and policies, to ensure the organization's environmental management policies remain current and relevant
·     Conduct environmental tests; analyze and evaluate results, recommend corrective action, and ensure the organization complies with federal and state regulations
·     Prepare and submit environmental reports in addition to managing and maintaining all written safety programs and training records, to ensure achievement of plant safety metrics and regulatory compliance
·     Support safety efforts by conducting timely training, audits and inspections, investigations, reporting statistics, and counseling associates
·     Update existing EH&S programs, policies, and procedures, as needed
·     Manage EH&S vendors, expenses, budget, and EH&S capital expenditure items
·     Oversee the administration of workers’ compensation program, including working with the insurance administrator to reduce employee lost time, and effective cost-containment strategies
·     Achieve objectives through collaboration with Company Leadership, plant Operations Management, Human Resources Management, and any other associated employees
·     Educate and train the workforce on emergency response procedures, handling hazardous materials, and other aspects of environmental management
·     Perform all other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS (Required)
·     Bachelor Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or related field
·     A Bachelors level degree in EH&S will be considered
·     Minimum 8 years’ experience in an EH&S management role in a manufacturing environment
·     Thorough knowledge of corporate policies, worker’s compensation, OSHA, and other relevant legislation is required
·     Experience with ISO management system principles
·     Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships, while working collaboratively with cross-functional business teams
·     Demonstrated successful ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure timely deadlines
·     Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence, and initiative without daily interaction with management
·     Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite
·     Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws and regulations
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS (Preferred)
·     Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
·     Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) certification
·     OSHA certification
·     40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training
·     TURA training
·     Professional certification in EHS (CSP, ASP, OHST or similar)
·     Fundamental knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen activities, and Six Sigma processes
