Church Health Scholar Program-The Well-Children's Health Prevention and Wellness Scholar

The Well scholar position acts as a liaison between our Child Life Associates and the Child Life leadership team. The Scholar(s) serve in the capacity of service to children ages 6 weeks-12 years old and their families; providing direct service, as well as working on individual meaningful projects to expand on the individual’s gifts and talents in conjunction with The Well program's needs. More specifically scholars, have an opportunity to focus on desired projects in the ministry at Church Health and in the community pertaining to their future goals and shadow professionals in that field. Additionally, scholars meet regularly together to learn collaboratively on different topics related to Church Health and fellowship through engaging activities and professional development opportunities.

General schedule is M,W,Th 10:00am-8:00pm; Tuesday 8:00am-5:00pm; Saturday 8:00am-1:00pm.


The Church Health Scholars program is a one-year, service learning fellowship for recent four-year college graduates interested in serving underserved populations and exploring the intersection of faith and health. By providing early exposure to honorable work through the Scholars program, Church Health aims to provide a firm foundation for Scholars to build professional and personal values, work ethic and perspective that forwards our mission to care for one another in our Memphis community.

Since its inception as the volunteer-based Clinic Assistant Program in the mid-1990’s, the Church Health Scholars program has helped participants launch careers as medical providers, community leaders and healthcare professionals.
