Director of Online Instruction

POSITION DESCRIPTION
In accordance with the mission and vision of Maricopa Institute of Technology, the position of Director of Online Instruction requires a background in building and growing an online educational program for high school students and provides leadership by collaborating with academic leaders and faculty in the planning, development, implementation, staffing, quality assurance, and student/faculty services supporting online instruction.

Required Minimum Qualifications
1.        Master’s Degree
2.        Experience in Arizona Online Instruction experience a plus
3.        Network experience to ensure they function efficiently and monitoring of performance data, online security, troubleshooting issues, anticipating problems, and performing routine maintenance and operation".
4.        Experienced in leading a rigorous and state of the art online web-based programs and facility through strong supervision, management, and leadership skills that will help build a reputable A+ online school.
5.        Experience in developing online content course curriculum design in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine (STEM²), development, instruction, and programs.
6.        Experience in operational characteristics and requirements of personal computer systems, networks, and other equipment.
7.       Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and implement recommendations in support of goals.
8.        Experience training faculty in online course development or instructional design.
9.        Three (3) years of experience teaching online in a higher education or professional setting.
10.      Three (3) years of experience administering a Learning Management System (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, Desire2Learn, Moodle).

Planning, Coordination and Evaluation
1.        Lead and manage technical operations and digital content associated with online course delivery, online student course evaluations, and faculty training, professional development, and innovation related to instructional design and development.
2.        Contribute expertise and ensure that online learning and new technologies are effectively integrated into a comprehensive plan for professional development.
3.       Manage all aspects of the Online Learning Program including performance evaluation, budgeting, and professional develop activities.
4.        Develop metrics for successful implementation and systems to track and report on them, (i.e., financial goals, enrollments, etc.).

Instructional Design
1.        Responsible for ensuring that online courses and programs meet quality assurance metrics, accreditation standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
2.        Collaborate with content experts to design online programs and courses.
3.        Support content experts in developing curriculum, including learning objectives, course outlines, and related materials.
4.        Develop multi-media instructional materials that are functional, informative, and consistent with sound instructional design principles and online learning pedagogy.
5.        Analyze data to improve online enrollment, student outcomes, and the design and delivery of online instruction and programming.

Educational Technologies
1.        Ensure that web-based platforms and administrative aspects of online delivery are maintained and up to date.
2.        Contribute expertise in decision-making regarding technological platforms and delivery mechanisms.
3.        Provide recommendations for interface design, sequencing of instruction, and online interactions to enhance to participant learning; support implementation.

Salary
Up to $80,000
