General Assignment Reporter
KTVO is looking for a take-charge reporter to help us continue to grow our newscasts! You must be an excellent storyteller. You must be creative, a good communicator and possess solid news judgment. You should also have the ability to go from light news to breaking news at any given time. Our reporters are expected to turn a package and a vo/sot daily and provide daily social media content on their talent and KTVO pages.
We are seeking a motivated, energetic, creative, and assertive reporter who can think and perform outside the box. The candidate should be able to enterprise stories and gather information for newscasts, have sound writing skills, a great work ethic, and a can-do attitude. The best person for this job will have excellent live shot skills and thrive on breaking news.
Requirements:
- Proven knowledge and experience working with current media creation tools and contemporary newsroom systems
- Strong writing and copy-editing skills are a must
- Some experience as a reporter is preferred
- Must be able to work well under deadline pressure
- Familiarity with AP Style
- Knowledge of social and digital posting
