Kids Club Site Supervisor (Gilbert, IA)

The role:
As the Gilbert Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, planning, scheduling, and programming of the Kids Club program. You will assist in the supervising, and evaluation of staff and volunteers in order to help make the experience worthwhile, safe, and educational.


What you will need:
  • One (1) year of experience in child development and child and family services.
  • Must obtain CPR/First Aid certification within three months of hire.
  • Successful completion in CPR/First Aid and Mandatory Reporter Training is required.
  • Supervisory experience is a plus.

What you will do:
  • Plan and provide all-day programming during the school year as well as in-service days and winter and spring breaks.
  • Supervise, train, and schedule staff, volunteers, and tutors ensuring coverage for the program.
  • Supervise children in the program while providing leadership to other site staff in the areas of behavior management, teaching, and paperwork procedures.
  • Coordinate with community resources to provide recreational and educational activities for participants.
  • Work with other staff to develop an overall service-learning plan for each school year.
  • Plan and implement activities, including written lesson plans based on a monthly central theme, using a structured lesson plan format - these activities should focus on meeting goals and objectives for each group.
  • Arrive and set up prior to the start of the program remaining onsite until all children have left and supplies are put away.
  • Track attendance, payments, and other pertinent child and family data.
  • Help prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks.
  • Ensure that children check in and check out of the program and that only authorized parents/guardians pick up children.
  • Maintain a clean facility, equipment, and supplies.
  • Provide summer programming as scheduled.
  • Administer assessments to participating children.
  • Maintain good working relationships with parents and school personnel.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Recruit children and families to participate in Kids Club.
  • Attend all required meetings and training.
  • Other duties as assigned.
