Newscast Director
KCCI-TV, the #1 station in Central Iowa, is looking for a full-time, entry-level Newscast Director. We work as a Director/TD team with a full studio production crew to produce fast-paced, graphic intensive, award-winning newscasts. This position is for a dedicated self-starter with decision-making skills and a desire to be a leader. Experience is preferred, but we're willing to train the right candidate.
Work shifts will include evenings, weekends and holidays.
Job Responsibilities:
Primary duties include: calling newscasts, editing news video, and assisting our digital team. The ideal candidate has experience in working closely with producers and production teams to execute graphic-intensive, fast-paced, technically clean and innovative newscasts.
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years professional LIVE news directing experience and will need:
excellent communication skills;
proficiency in ENPS or related newsroom software and Adobe video editing software;
experience with digital video playback systems;
understanding of MOS, VizRT and all control room operations.
Education:
College degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field preferred but not required with equivalent work or military experience.
